Highway 37
Once the Swift Current Creek has been augmented by the waters of Jones Creek, Bone Creek and Rock Creek it wanders northeast, through the RM's of Bone Creek and Webb to Reid Lake created by the Duncairn Dam. Flow in Swift Current Creek is maintained in most years due to springs which discharge into the creek upstream of Reid Lake. These springs are recharged by a more consistent snowfall and rain in the Cypress Hills than in the surrounding prairie. The bedrock formations, Cypress Hills Conglomerate and Ravenscrag Formation, at the top of the Cypress Hills act as storage reservoirs to maintain and recharge the springs.
